1.2/50 µs full-wave lightning impulse withstand tests confirm each design's flashover margin against transient overvoltages.
Mechanical failing load
Combined mechanical-and-electrical failing load tests pull discs to destruction to verify rated M&E strength across the 70 kN – 550 kN classes.
Thermal cycle
Hot-cold temperature cycle tests prove the porcelain-cement-cap assembly survives decades of thermal expansion stress in service.
